Story

 

Hi Everyone,

This is the 7th year of the Unity Walk and we are again taking part in support of my brother Brett.

I'm taking part in the 2014 Parkinson's NSW Unity Walk and Run.

I am proud to be a part of this amazing event and helping to raise funds for people with Parkinson's. 

 As most of you know, Brett has been battling Parkinsons for over 20 years, he has had the deep brain stimulation operation and  takes heaps of medication just to get throuh a normal day. Although dealt such a bad hand so early in life, he never complains. He keeps active with a young family and is still associated with the Penrith PANTHERs ex players and attends most home games.     Parkinson’s NSW is a for-purpose organisation striving to make life better for people living with Parkinson’s, their carers, families and communities. It is the peak body for the Parkinson’s community of NSW.
     
    It provides essential services including counselling, Support Groups, an InfoLine staffed by Parkinson’s Registered Nurses, community-based Parkinson’s Specialist Nurses, education, NDIS advocacy and fundraising for research. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life of people affected by Parkinson’s, while working towards a cure.
